# Homethrive Teams Up with Unseen Documentary

“You know, they say it takes a village to raise a child,” Jess Ronne says in the trailer for the documentary film [_Unseen_](https://caregiverdoc.com/). “And I don’t know that that can be any more true than for parents of special needs children.”

## Spotlighting the Unseen Documentary

_Unseen: How We’re Failing Parent Caregivers & Why it Matters_ is a documentary film that spotlights the parents of children with profound disabilities. It presents us with an issue that is oftentimes overlooked or ignored: the lack of support to be found for parent caregivers.

“We absolutely need that village to surround us, and the village is never there,” continues Jess.

She and her husband Ryan have a blended family of 8 children including Lucas, who requires constant care. _Unseen_ goes behind the scenes with parents like them to see exactly how caregiving takes a toll on their physical and mental health.
